On our flight to Billings, Montana out of Dallas three weeks ago we grabbed some Auntie Anne's pretzels and a Diet Pepsi before our flight. While in the air I looked over at my hubby's cup and noticed that it had the Coke logo on it, but they only served Pepsi products at the store. I found this amusing. I bet Pepsi wouldn't though.

On a recent trip back home to Dallas from Cody, Wyoming we flew United. My only complaint, my seat belt was wrapped in duct tape. Makes me wonder, what else on that plane was being held together with this adhesive tape? Well, at least it's waterproof!

|True Story by: Don Piper|
From the Back Cover:
He thought it was going to be just another day. God had other plans.
Don Piper died instantly when his car was crushed by a semi. While his body lay lifeless inside the ruins of his car, Piper went to heaven. Ninety minutes after the wreck, he miraculously returned to life on earth with only the memory of heavenly bliss. His faith in God was severely tested as he faced an uncertain and grueling recovery. Now he shares his life-changing story with you.
If you've ever wondered what heaven was like, if you've ever questioned God's goodness because bad things happen, if you've had trouble believing that heaven is real--this incredible true story will change your life.
A local bookstore in our town is going out of business, so I scooped up a copy of this book at 40% off last week. I have heard about this book for sometime now, yet had never gotten around to picking up a copy. When I saw this one on the shelf, a special edition for Young Readers, I thought it would be a great one for my tween and teen to read, as well as myself.
Naturally, I felt overwhelmed with joy, excitement and relief, as Pastor Don Piper described his brief encounter in Heaven after his fatal car accident. I sat on my sofa and cried for at least 10 minutes at the thought of what is waiting for me when I leave this Earth. I am a believer. I believe in Heaven and believe it will be my permanent home when it is time for me to leave here. With that being said, and I am being honest, there are days that I have my doubts. There are days that my faith isn't at the level it needs to be. In the back of my mind I wonder "Will we REALLY get to see our loved ones when we get there? Does a perfect place like that REALLY exsit? Is it REALLY going to be like that?" When those questions arise I have to let my faith kick in because without hard evidence and absolute proof, that's all we have to go on...our Faith.
This book is an amazing testimony to the power of prayer and how miracles on this Earth still occur. It reassured me that God is the one in control and through him all things are possible. Don reassures us, through his book, that there is a better place waiting for us. He knows because he has been there. The book also describes this man's painful recovery, how prayer saved him and how he, through his own experience, is bringing peace, comfort and encouragement to others.
I highly recommend this book for yourself and the Young Readers edition for children ages 9 +. I can say, at this very moment, I feel peace in my heart and rejoice at the thought of being greeted by my "welcoming committee" someday.
