Ever Get a Craving?

I did yesterday, for bruschetta!  I got called to serve Jury Duty for the first time in my life, so I had a lot of time on my hands to think about food!  While sitting in a hot court room, shoulder to shoulder with a hundred other people in Wilson County, I scrolled through Pinterest to try and decide what to cook for supper.  That’s when I came across my own recipe for Bruschetta.  My mouth waters right now just thinking about it.  The movie Julie and Julia inspired me for this recipe.  If you haven’t watched it, you totally should.  And if you haven’t ever made Bruschetta, you should totally do that too!  Bruschetta Recipe - Click Here

Lazy Sunday

Snuggled up all warm and cozy and waiting for Toy Story 3 to start. I love lazy Sundays and I love this kid!

Old Faithful!

Wanted to share a little clip I just uploaded to YouTube from our most recent trip to Yellowstone National Park when we got to visit Old Faithful and watch her erupt.  It was an amazing experience to see in person.  It's pretty amazing living on 50 miles from this place.  There is no reason for us to be bored on the weekends from now on! ...and every time I think of Old Faithful, my thoughts go back to that movie Dennis the Menace and the scene where he squirts Mr. Wilson's nasal spray out and as it is shooting straight up into the air he says, "Old Faithful!"  Funny how things like that from our childhood stick with us, huh? (old faithful scene starting at 6:28) Such a great movie!

Here's the Bruschetta....

Found the Julie & Julia  Bruschetta recipe, tried it, and LOVED it! Even the five year old who doesn't eat tomatoes, ate this. It was buttery, salty, tomato(y), garlic(y) and just one of the most fabulous things I have ever eaten! I have the recipe blogged at Ridiculously Delicious . Trust me, this is one you will want to try!

Julie & Julia

I must admit I am currently a little obsessed with the movie Julie & Julia.  Honestly, I watch it practically every day.  I love to cook.  I love to eat.  I love to watch movies.  So, there you go.  The movie inspires me.  It makes me want to set goals for myself, which in turn makes me feel accomplished.  These past few months I have just felt over-whelmed.  I babysit three small children, plus have four kids of my own, plus I am a preschool teacher two days a week.  By the end of the day I have no desire to cook, which makes me very sad.  However, I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel! Our last day of preschool was yesterday and in two weeks I will no longer have the extra munchkins that I babysit! No more snotty noses, dirty diapers, continuous screaming and crying or graham crackers crushed all over my house! So, the more I watch Julie & Julia, the more excited I get about the upcoming summer months which w...
