For each new day, morning and night  And restful sleep until the next daylight  For laughter, shelter, food and friends And EVERYTHING in between for we not know when it may all end.  ~ keila s. mcknight

Turkey Day 2012

Another Thanksgiving has come and gone and all day I have reminisced about my childhood, my uncle Tommy coming home from Nashville to help grandma get the turkey and dressing baked, my granny's coconut cake, my aunt Cindy's potato salad, and those amazing brown and serve rolls with the squeezable butter. Being so far away from home makes the holidays hard, but I am so thankful for my family unit here in Wyoming. This year we were blessed in having our billet son James with us to celebrate the holiday. I know deep down he is missing his family like crazy just as we are. Now that dinner is over, the teens are Black Friday shopping and the younger boys are settling down for the night, I want to say Happy Thanksgiving to all our friends and family, we love each and every one of you.

A Thanksgiving Feast!

Dressed as little Pilgrims and Indians, Jaxon and his fellow preschool classmates enjoyed a festive Thanksgiving Day Feast today. A big Thank You to my dear husband who was able to walk over to our little Indian's school and help serve a traditional Thanksgiving lunch and forward on some adorable pictures to mommy to show off and brag about to her co-workers and patients. The Black Friday Edition

A fun and challenging, I might add, Thanksgiving Day tradition of mine has always been the hunt and possession of a Black Friday newspaper on Thursday morning. Thinking back to last year, when we were visiting back home in KY, I remember my siste-in-law and I going to several stores with no luck in finding one until finally stumbling upon the "last one" in a grocery store cart. This year since my family of six stayed here in Wyoming for Thanksgiving I decided to just have the paper delivered. Less work, same result! Happy Thanksgiving and be careful out there snatching up all those Black Friday Deals!

GOBBLE..GOBBLE..

Moral of the picture....slow down and ENJOY Thanksgiving!  Christmas will be here soon enough! HAPPY THANKSGIVING FRIENDS!
