Irene

photo courtesy of  msnbc . Praying for my friends and all those who live on the East Coast that are in the path of Irene.  I have been glued to the t.v. this afternoon watching all of the coverage of the destruction she has already caused and all the preparations currently taking place in NYC and other cities along the coast.  This photo of siding being blown off houses in Nags Head, NC, is evidence of Irene's power to destruct.  Hunker down East Coast, you have a long night ahead of you and you are all in my thoughts and prayers!

A Break to Enjoy Spring

t his past week was spring break for my boys and those days were filled with spring cleaning, yard work and then a day of fun and sun in fort worth. yesterday was sunny and the weather was absolutely fabulous with a high temp of 78 degrees. a day made especially for mini golf and go-kart racing. today, our red bud tree in the front yard has bloomed and is breathtakingly beautiful, however it has been pouring down rain with temps in the high 30's. and yes, a few moments ago we saw snow flurries. seriously?? is this de ja vue of a month ago, or what? toto, I don't think we're in Texas anymore!

tweet...tweet

i 'm not much of a bird watcher, but this little guy caught my eye yesterday morning as I was walking through the dining room. just one day after yet another snow day, the sun was shining, the temps were already on the rise and this little tweeter was soaking it all up. Texas, you gotta love it here!

candlemas day

"For as the sun shines on Candlemas Day, so far will the snow swirl in May..." Woke up to another freezing day in Te X as and according to Phil, the ever so infamous weather predicting groundhog, we will have to suffer through another six weeks of Winter. Therefore, like the groundhog, I too would like to hibernate, only I don't want to wake up until it is at least 65 degrees out. And if hibernation isn't an option for me, and with four boys I doubt it will be, I will settle for a warm blanket, a nice bowl of Select Harvest Soup and a mid-afternoon sleazy, drama-filled movie on Lifetime !
